Rate Schedule

Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the world. According to the VDOE, the rate of autism has increased 300% in the last six years. Matthew’s Center provides a stimulating, therapeutic and engaging environment to meet the needs of children and families affected by autism and related disabilities.

Matthew’s Center recognizes that each student requires a uniquely structured and supportive program based on their learning ability. At our Day School, we provide a rich staffing ratio of 1:3 with 1:1 or 1:2 ratios available that includes related services such as Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Board Certified Behavioral Analysis. Each student’s curriculum is designed in accordance with their Individual Educational Plan (IEP) using a variety of research based methodologies, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We are devoted to teaching each student a functional communication system, daily living skills, functional academics and appropriate social skills. A behavior intervention plan is developed based on each student’s specific needs.

Through our Outreach Services Program we provide home based 1:1 instruction to increase independence and support maintenance and generalization of skills across varying environments. The program’s focus is to provide engaging instruction based on the principles of ABA that improves the students’ communication, adaptive behavior, recreation/leisure skills, academic skills, and promote independence in life skills and self-help skills. Outreach services also includes: Parent and Caregiver Training and Consult.

Our After School Care Program is licensed by the DSS. It runs Monday through Friday from 2:30-6:30pm and full day when school is not in session. Its primary focus is recreation/leisure skills with attention to adaptive behavior.

Camp Adventure provides quality summer activities that are not typically available for children with special needs. Activities that spark the child’s imaginations and creativity while supporting healthy development and communication skills. Exciting experiences include: field trips, art experiences, books, cooking and movies related to weekly themes.
